Fight Night BBQ

 This weekend the Alumni Association hosted a Bar-B-Que at the house, prior to the house's annual philanthropic event, Fight Night. The event was well attended, especially by newer alumni, and saw as many as 50 sigs spanning decades of house membership. The weather cooperated beautifully and was perfect for an afternoon of grilling and reminiscing. Burgers and brats went quickly.
 The majority of the attendees fell under the age of 35 and a challenge has been extended to the "old guys" to get the word out and represent at the next Alumni event. Thanks to all who made it and made the event a success. Special thanks to Meiers Imports for catering the event.

Brewkys Wrap up

 The Sigma Chi Alumni Association had a reception on February 13, 2008 @ Brewsky's as scheduled. Fifteen alumni attended and three significant others (spouses and spouse to be). It was a good start and hopefully we can build on this in the future to attain our Alumni Chapter status. Everyone attending had the opportunity to introduce themselves and get reacquainted. We all enjoyed a few adult beverages and some food prior to attending the Missouri basketball game.
 Age of the group ranged from the mid 20's to the early 70's. Attending were Jack Shultz, Gale Williams, Jon Dittenber, Craig Hoffman, Ryan Bruns, Jason Laessig, Craig Vacek, Ron Harris, Craig Dirrim, Art Sharp, Bill Shreve, Jim Kamm, Woody Denker, Harry Tolly, Brett Harris and Adam Hayes. Spouses attending were Ellen Williams and Kandy Denker. Spouse to be attending was Heidi Sprague who is engaged to Adam Hayes. Pictures were taken so everyone could take a look at who attended and try and match the name with the face and body. We let everyone know that the next function will be at Sigma Chi Greek Fight Night.

Congratulations to Trey ('01) and Shari Pittenger on the birth of their first daughter, Maci Julianna. Maci was born January 18th and weighed in at 7lbs 8oz.
Pre-Game Reception Planned

Reception at Brewsky's in the Haymarket on February 13th, 2008 beginning at 5:30 p.m. prior to the Missouri basketball game. If you have tickets you may want to consider asking an alumni to attend the game with you. If you don't have tickets you might consider getting some for this game and attending. Spouses are welcome!!!
This is the first of six events planned for 2008. Please plan to attend and get reacquainted with alumni in the Lincoln, Nebraska area and please pass this message on to anyone you feel we might have missed. Take the time to get in touch with each other and encourage attendance.
